Eric Stanley

Well, I discovered Eric Stanley more than a year ago—back when he wasn’t as famous as he is now and only had a few covers of mostly mainstream hip-hop, RnB music. He is young a violinist from Chesapeake, Virginia who used to do violin covers for mainstream music and make that (mostly) otherwise intolerable stuff great. In those days, I was absolutely in love with him and his music, thinking he was one of the greatest young musicians I had ever heard (and I had heard only a few, so that must explain it). That wore off after I downloaded his free mix-tape. What’s really sad is that I had a countdown for this mix-tape and was fanatically looking forward to it. As soon as I downloaded it and listened to each song, I realised that his music wasn’t something I could listen to on a stretch. And if I’m being ruthlessly frank, there were tracks that were very dull to listen to intently. I guess, if you like to have music playing in the background while doing some work that requires attention, you should play his mix-tape. His songs aren’t hateable though. Just skip-able.
That being said, there are a few mind-blowers in The Eric Stanley Project (the name of his mix-tape). Those include:

The reason why I am including him in my blog is because he justly deserves reviews... because he really is a truly great, young musician who is certainly going places. I think he's recording now... not too sure about that, though. If you hadn’t heard of him, you REALLY should check out his music because I am a listener whose taste is easily changeable. Perhaps I just grew out of Eric Stanley sooner than I thought I would. I still listen to a select few songs from his mix-tape. Those that are linked, will eternally be among my five-star rated music.
